We recently created an order tracking site for a client of ours using Joomla and Fabrik. The client is a B2B company which ships large shipments of foodgrains from Dubai to other parts of the world and needed an easy to maintain online system through which  their clients could access shipping and order processing statuses.

Of course we decided to use Joomla - since it is open source and flexible enough to fulfil our needs - and at the same time it is very easy to use. We used Fabrik, an open source form and database management extension built for Joomla. We debated about to creating our own template but later decided to use a standard free template from the siteground repository of free templates:

It fitted the company's image perfectly.

The company has an administrative interface through which it can create and update orders and shipment details. It can also create/edit/delete users and customers. Customers have a unique user-name and password though which they can log in to the site and check the status of thier orders.

Creating and configuring the Joomla site took us less than a week.
